Carte de Visite with photograph of Abraham Lincoln, signed A. Lincoln, 4 3/16" x 2 1/2".
Provenance: It was given to a Spanish diplomat in London, approx. 1864. It was in that family for over 100 years and then passed on to a priest in Spain. Apparently the photo is of Lincoln when he was about 50-52 years old. These photos are called carte de visite and are traditionally given out as gifts on New Years. We have a copy of a letter from a company called Appraisal Associates in Arizona stating that in their opinion is authentic. The letter is dated January 18, 2000.
